MDS Blog Hop Friday

Hello Friends~

I apologize for missing last week. But I was with my family on a truly amazing vacation. We sailed on the newest Disney Ship, the Fantasy. It was so awesome! Honestly, it was one magical moment after another. We had the best time. But now we are home, and we are back to work. A fine way to burst the summer bubble!

The challenge for this week was to use your MUST HAVE digital content items. Boy, that was hard! I have so many favorites. But after some thought, I decided to go with OVERLAYS. I honestly think that I use the Vintage Overlays on almost every page I make. They are like a large stamp that covers your page. You can color them, reduce the opacity, and of course, make them bigger or smaller, and send them to the back as I have done to use as background.  I love the first one in the Vintage Overlay Set because when you change the color to Soft Suede, it makes your project look like it was sponged. I love that! My other NEW favorite is the splatter tool! It adds a vintage look that I adore!

Here is my page:

Of course I used on of our Vacation pictures from Grand Cayman Island. You will probably get sick of seeing them, as I think I took something like 600 pictures! Crazy!

I used 2 different Overlays on this page -  from the Decorative Overlay set I used Flourish Collage, and from Vintage Overlays I used Texture # 1 (my digital sponging tool!).

Thanks for stopping by this week! Be sure to follow along on the Hop and see what the other gals have listed as their MUST have's!

Have a great weekend -

SPOOKY BINGO BITS

Hello Friends,

I don't do a lot with Halloween. But we have some really adorable Halloween Stamp Sets...and I finally caved and dug them out to make a few cards. My kids are getting bigger, and we don't make the classroom treats that we once did. Although, I am sure High School kids would love them as much as the little kids.

This is a brand new set in the Holiday Catalog called Googlie Eyes. Super Cute set!
I have seen some really cute cards and 3D treats made with this set on Pinterest.

Here is a super quick, super cute card. Seriously, this took me less than 10 minutes! Easy Peasy, just the way I like it!

The Cardstock is Basic Black and Whisper White, and the DSP is from the Polka Dot Parade paper pack (LOVE IT!). I stamped the mummy in Basic Black and punches out with the Wide Oval Punch, layered him on the Designer Label Punch and popped up with some dimensionals. A piece of Polka Dot Basic Black Ribbon finishes it off.

As you read this, I am with my family on the Disney Fantasy. I am scheduling this post from home. So when I return I am sure I will have lots of exciting things to share. My son is so excited, his tummy has the butterflies. Super cute!

Have a great week, and thank you for stopping by!

MDS BLOG HOP FRIDAY

Hello Friends,

Welcome back to our weekly Blog Hop! This weeks theme is SUMMER FUN! Boy, I wish I had some summer fun pictures to scrap. I will soon (heading off on a cruise in 2 days!). But up until now, I've pretty much watch summer pass me by.
No worries, I dug out some pictures from 2 summers ago.  :)

And truth be told, these are pages I made several months ago. Sorry they are not new. But they are still super summery and cute! :)

We are off on a Disney Cruise tomorrow! So exciting! The kids (big and little) are jumping out of their skin! You are never too old for Mickey Mouse! After 4 months of being laid up with my foot in a cast then a boot, I am ready for some summer fun!  I will have LOTS of pictures to scrap when I get back. You will probably see Disney layouts for the next 6 months! :)

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Be sure to continue the hop and visit the other gals.

What a fun page! I am SO loving the new features of MDS2. It is SO awesome being able to recolor stamped images with several different colors. You can see this in the JOY TO THE WORLD STAMP. I used Poppy Parade for the JOY and Old Olive for the rest. Very cool indeed!

The other exciting thing that is happening this week is the addition of a new blogger joining our Blog Hop this week! It is none other than the amazingly awesome Miss Kimberly VanDiepen!
WOOT! WOOT!

You may be familiar with her work, as it is truly amazing. She has consistently been one of Stampin' Up!'s top demonstrators for the last 7 years.
But more than that, I am happy to call her my dear friend. She is my sister in so many ways! :)
Be sure to check out her work, as I know it will knock your socks off!

We are off to VA. to pick up my sweet girl! She has been gone for 3 WEEKS! I feel like I haven't hugged this child in sooo long. I can't wait to give her a squeeze!

Have a great week!

Triple Time Stamping

Hello Friends -

I recently saw a beautiful card made by fellow demonstrator, Dawn Olchefske. I love how the image continues through the layers of the card. She calls this technique Triple Time Stamping.

I loved it so much, I had to make one of my own. The colors are Early Espresso and Very Vanilla.

The stamp set it called Creative Elements.

Here is a link to the video on Dawn's blog that shows you step by step how to make this card.
It's super easy, and really pretty. You could do this technique with so many different stamp sets!

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you are having a great week! Just 2 more days until we go to get our girl! I can't wait!

A house full of Stampers!

Today I held my FIRST stamp class since my surgery back in May. I have missed having events so much. It was great to see so many of my stampers - I have missed their smiling faces.

I wanted to share the projects we made today. They made 4 cards, and everyone seemed to love them!

This first card uses the Mixed Bunch Stamp Set and the coordinating Blossom punch. Quick, easy and super cute! The color is new...Primrose Petal.

This card uses the new set, Summer Silhouette. I love all the different flowers in this set. It reminds me of wildflowers. The colors are Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive. I love them against the Crumb Cake Cardstock.

This is another new set, Bright Blossoms, with the coordinating DSP, Summer Smooches. I love these little flowers. The green color is new...Gumball Green.

This is the last card. The set is called Up, Up and Away. I wanted to do something other than all flowers. It's such a fun, happy set! I paired it with the Polka Dot Parade DSP. I adore Polka Dots and this DSP is nothing BUT.

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you enjoyed the stamped inspiration!
Have a great weekend!

Simple and Clean Butterflies

Hello Stampers,

I saw some really beautiful samples of cards on Pinterest. Wow, such creativity! I fell in love with the simple clean designs of many of the cards.

Here is a quick card to share with you today!

The cardstock is simply black and white. The Butterflies were made with the Beautiful Wings die cut for the Big Shot using Raspberry Ripple and New Edition DSP. A simple pearl finishes it off in the center.

The greeting is using the set Curly Cute. I love the script on this font!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great day!

MDS Blog Hop Friday - 1 YEAR ANNIVERSARY!

Wow! I can't believe we have been blog hopping for a year already! It just flew by!

To celebrate our Anniversary we were challenged to make an Anniversary card/project in MDS.  Now I think it's AMAZING that our anniversary falls right on the release of MDS2 with all it's new features!

I've only had it for one day, but I am LOVING the new features! Some of my favorites are the ability to recolor stamps with multi colors (you will see that in my project below on the branch!), recoloring of embellishments (wow! so awesome...now you ALWAYS have the right color) and even DSP!
And there's a new global search that makes finding everything super easy...stamps, embellishments, punches and paper! I am sure I will discover more and more features to fall in love with as I play with it some more.

Anyway, when I think Anniversary, I think LOVE. Here is my cute card!

Aside from the recolored branch (super cool, right?) there is new paper on this card also. The bellies of the owls are digital papers from the new Bandstand Kit that was released this week! I love the chevron pattern the most! Super fun!

To get a closer look at MDS2 and the options....click this link. If you already have MDS, you can purchase and download the upgrade for just $19.95. The complete software is available for $79.95 and contains over $500 worth of digital content! WOW!

And if that wasn't enough...Stampin' Up! is offering 31% OFF print pricing during the month of August! WOW! Get those books printed for a steal! To see the detail, click this link!

Please be sure to visit the other gals on the hop! I sure have had a great time with these amazing ladies this year...and I am looking forward to year #2!
