MDS BLOG HOP FRIDAY

Hello Friends!

I am sorry I didn't have this up earlier this AM. My internet was out all morning and I couldn't get it posted! Weird!

This weeks challenge is to use MDS Content that will be retiring with this Catalog. I think one of my favorite kits is the Noteworthy kit, so that is the one I decided to go with.

I love the bright summery colors of the patterned paper against the neutral DSP. And I also love that the focus stays on the photo, and that embellishments are kept at a minimum.

Thanks for stopping by today.  I had foot surgery on Monday. I am in a large cast and will be non weight bearing for 6 weeks. Its hard to get into my stamp room, but not so hard to work on MDS. Love that I can work on my scrapbooking while i recuperate!

MDS BLOG HOP FRIDAY

Here we are, Friday again! Yahoo!

This weeks challenge is for a vacation or a trip. I am looking forward to summer to make some new memories to scrapbook. But in the mean time, I was going over some old pictures, and came across pictures of when we took Emily to NYC for the first time. Being in CT. we can take the train or drive in pretty quickly. We head in several times a year. But when Emily was 8 we took her for along for the first time. Of course we did all the touristy things, but it was a super fun day.

I love the color picker feature in MDS. We didn't have just the right shade of pink that I needed, so I used the color picker and selected the color from Emily's sweatshirt. Viola! Perfect match!

I am thinking of taking next Friday off, as I am having surgery on my foot Monday. If I feel well enough I will probably participate, but we will see how it goes, and how many pain meds I am taking (LOL).

MDS Blog Hop Friday

Well, I can hardly stand myself...but it is only Sunday night and I have finished my post for next week! Woo Hoo! I am usually working on it at 10 PM the night before.

This week was yet another sketch challenge...but I love them! It takes the guess work out of designing a page, and yet, everyone's take is so different! I love that!

I used a couple of different download on this page...Delight in the Day for most of it, and the paper fill on the large circle is from Sweet Shoppe. I love how you can use different kits, and the look all comes together because of Stampin' Up!'s awesome color palette.

Elements of Style

Hello Friends,

I was playing around this week getting ready for my monthly stamp club. I was struggling a bit to come up with something fresh. It's almost the end of this catalog season, and sometimes I get a creative block when I feel like I have used it all, yet still need something new.

I found a card I loved on Pinterest (LOVE Pinterest!) and decided to CASE it. It uses Elements of Style, which certainly isn't a new set. But I have to admit that I haven't pulled it out in quite awhile.

Here is the card:

The cardstock is Crumb Cake, and I stamped the swirls in the corners using Versamark ink. The patterened paper is Pink Pirouette polka dot. The large oval was made using the Ovals Die for the Big shot. I stamped the flowers in the Elements set in Crumb Cake, then die cut 2 butterflies to layer. 

The center is a vintage brad, and a piece of Chantilly Lace ribbon. 

The greeting is from Teeny Tiny Wishes. Love that set! There is a greeting for every occasion!

MDS Blog Hop Friday!

Hello Friends,

Another Friday is upon us and that means another edition of MDS Blog Hop Friday! This weeks challenge was Mothers. I didn't really make a mothers page though, as there was some discussion about changing the theme.

So in any case, I made a page about Bella. Shocking! I make a TON of pages about my dog! Crazy, right? She is my go to subject when I don't have any pictures easily accessible that I want to scrap. Oh, I have a ton alright, but am I organized enough to find them? NOOOO.

Anyway, Bella went to the groomer this week, and came back looking so pretty! All soft and fluffy and smelling good. And they even gave her a Hello Kitty bandana! :)

So I guess if you wanted to be technical, you COULD say this was a page about Mothers. LOL. Cause she is my baby. :)
