Betsy's Blossoms

Hello Stamping Friends,

Sorry I haven't been posting much other than digital. It's been so challenging to stamp being in this cast. Good news is, I only have 4 more days until this one comes off. I hope to be in a walking boot next week! Keep your fingers crossed for me.

I did manage to get a few cards made this morning. I have all these new stamps and inks, and I have been so anxious to play with them. One of the new ones I inked up for the first time today is Betsy's Blossoms. I am usually not a huge bird fan, but I think that this little guy (or gal?) is adorable.

The cardstock colors are Very Vanilla, Baja Breeze and Pumpkin Pie. There is a pearl in the top corners, as well as the center of the blossom, and the birds eye.
The Designer Series Paper is the new Floral District, which coordinates perfectly with this set.

I am anxious to get back to stamping on a more regular basis. I have a few more samples to share with you this week, so be sure to come back!

I hope your weekend is off to a great start! Keep cool wherever you are!
Thanks for stopping by ~

MDS BLOG HOP FRIDAY

Here we are, Friday again!

Summer is in full swing. Wish I was! 2 more weeks of this cast, and I should be a little more mobile. It has been 5 weeks already, and I am going stir crazy! At least I have MDS to keep me busy! All I need is my laptop and I am ready to roll. :)

So this weeks theme is a Celebration of some sort. Well, that leaves it WIDE open! I have done a lot of birthday pages, so I wasn't feeling like doing another. So, I selected a Christmas picture, although it's not a Christmas page. It's more of a celebration of my family.

I used the Love Letters DSP. It was one of my all-time favorite papers that SU ever made. That's another great thing about MDS...nothing ever retires!

Here is my page:

I love the vintage feel to the paper. I added an overlay stamp in soft suede to look like it was sponged along the edges. This was originally a color photograph, but I changed it to black and white and added a slight warm tone to it to make it match the overall feel of the page.

Thank you for letting me show off my family! Look how happy Bella looks between the kids! LOL. She is our 3rd baby for sure.

Thanks so much for visiting today. I hope you are kicking off summer doing something super fun.
Be sure to stop by the other ladies on the blog hop and check out their projects.

Summer Smooches

Hello All! Happy Monday (is there such a thing?).

I finally am getting around to stamping some new samples. The new catalog is loaded with so many wonderful goodies! I am having such fun playing with all my new stamps, inks and papers.

Here is a cute sample using the Summer Smooches Suite of products. The stamp set is Bright Blossoms, and paired with the coordinating Summer Smooches Designer Paper, they are just adorable.

Do you see other new products on this card? The green is a new color called Gumball Green. I LOVE IT! The ribbon is new as well and ties beautifully. The THANK YOU banner is a new stamp set called
Itty Bitty Banners. It is SO cute! It coordinates with the Bitty Banners Framelits Die. Awesome!

If you don't have your new catalog yet, please give me a shout. I have them here and will be happy to get one to you! :)

Thanks for stopping by, Have a great day!

MDS Hybrid Card

Hello Everyone,

Happy Sunday! I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend! I am home as usual with my leg up, while my is at a family picnic. I wish I could have gone, but it's just not possible with this lug of a cast. Anyway, my hubby rearranged my stamp room so that I can get to my stuff without having to hobble around. Thank GOD! He is the best and sweetest ever. So, I have been able to stamp a card here and there which I am so thankful for!

I have been working on a card for Jacob's teacher for the end of year. I decided to use MDS and do a Hybrid card. I got a lot of inspiration from fellow demonstrators. Here is what I came up with:

The card size is 6x6. Everything is digital except the Owl, which I punched out and sat on top of the stack of books. The owls wings were made using the scallop oval punch. The diploma was made by rolling up small piece of First Edition DSP and tying it with a piece of 1/8" Basic Black grosgrain ribbon.

The digital sets I used were School Days, and School Days II sets. The books were made by resizing a square punch, and filling with designer series paper. I then added the names of books they read or used this year on the spine.

Thanks for stopping by today!
I hope you are having a great weekend and enjoying the great weather.

MDS BLOG HOP FRIDAY

Hello Friends,

Welcome back to another edition of MDS Blog Hop Friday.

This weeks theme was to make something Hybrid. Well, I wasn't able to meet this challenge. This huge cast I have on is preventing me from getting in my stamp room. So frustrating!
So, I just made a digital page (less the hybrid) to share with you today. I hope that is ok!

Here is my page:

I wanted to celebrate my son's 4th grade year, which is coming to a close. It's so hard to believe that he is moving on to the big school next year. Bittersweet! This is a picture from the first day of school with his good friend Owen. Cute, aren't they?

The page uses the Number One digital kit, as well is Well Worn Digital DSP. I love the muted tones of these papers.

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you are having a great day and a wonderful weekend!

Please visit my other pals on the blog hop for some inspiration today!

MDS BLOG HOP FRIDAY

Hello Friends,

Well, since I am in a cast and non weight bearing for 6 weeks (shoot me) I have plenty of time to get my pages done ahead of time. Honestly, it's about all I can do! LOL

This weeks challenge was to use NEW Digital content or the weeks Downloads. I am in LOVE with the Summer Happiness kit that was released this week. It's got so many fun summer colors like Pool Party, Melon Mambo and Lucky Limeaid.  You definitely should check it out.

Here is a peek at what comes in the kit:

Download includes:
* 17-piece stamp brush set
* 12 Designer Series Papers
* 26 embellishments

Features:
* Digital-exclusive
* An array of versatile floral and nature motifs to brighten your projects
* Easy to create coordinating projects with all included elements

Coordinating colors:
Basic Gray, Calypso Coral, Lucky Limeade, Melon Mambo, Pool Party, Sahara Sand, Whisper White

Item # 130076   $9.95

Here is the page I made with the kit:

I played around with it for awhile. I went back and reduced the number of patterns I had on the page - it looked too busy. I replaced them with more SOLID colors like Melon Mambo and Pool Party to keep the focus on the picture.

Thanks for stopping by this week! Be sure to visit the other gals on the hop!
